Austria Lotto History
Austria Lotto history started not so long ago. It was founded through the Toto Lottery Planning Company which was created on July 2, 1985. This company was formed to introduce a lottery in Austria. After almost a year in June 11, 1986, the government granted the legalities of the lottery game in the country and so the Austrian Lottery Toto Company was built.
At first, there were only four lottery games offered. These are the Class Lottery, the Small Number Lottery, the Letter Lottery and the SpotToto. In a span of 5 years the company had grown big and later on decided to change its name to Austrian Lotteries Company m.b.H. It was in June 20, 1991 when the said company solely has the right to run every lottery game in Austria until present.
The growth of the company became so quick that from the 4 initial lottery games, they have added more to the list. People were given the chance to choose from the list of games like Toto, Bingo, Joker, WINWINWIN and Rubellos. The Letter Lottery and the Class Lottery are still one of the games. Among all the Austrian lottery games, the Austrian Lotto became the flagship game of the lottery company.
Not so soon after struggling with the pressures of criticisms and improvement, the Austrian Lotto were decided to be played twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays. This is a higher chance for the players to be one of the winners in the two-day draw. It all happened in September 3, 1997. Proudly in October 2, 2004 EuroMillions lottery made Austria Lotto a part of them and started giving the highest jackpot prize winnings in the country of Austria.
